Bookshelves.

I love Apartment Therapy's small spaces stories, mostly because while our house isn't that small, the rooms are small and I'd rather not start knocking down walls. We're hoping to finally create a proper office in our extra bedroom as the next in-the-house project, and we need more bookshelves (since we can't seem to stop buying books ...). I like this idea:
I just wonder how much of a pain it would be to stick that many holes in the wall since we have plaster.

Kitchen curtains.

We don't have any curtains on the window over our kitchen sink at the moment. I never like the curtains that I see, and it seems a little strange to me to put fabric in a place with food. Kind of like carpet in a bathroom. Ew.

Then today, I saw this photo here.

Very neat idea. I don't care for the stripes, but I like the style, especially since it is basically a roman shade that ties in a different way, and I already have roman shades in the dining room. The best part? I can make it myself!
